Images from Joe Ulowetz

Joe Ulowetz has contributed the following astrophotgraphs.

Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF), 2022-12-30. This was 3 exposures of 300 sec for each color, combined in CCDStack2. The comet nucleus is very star-like so he was able to guide directly on it. M42, 2022-12-20. Taken with a C9.25. The image is only about 30 arcminutes wide, part of the “sword”. Copyright 2022 Joe Ulowetz. The image shown is reduced in size to fit this page. Click on the image to load a full size image in a new window.
Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction, 2020-12-22. Taken with a C5 SCT at f/10 (50" focal length), stack of 46 frames using AutoStakkert as planets drifted through the field of view. Exposure set for Saturn, so Jupiter is overexposed, in the middle of the image. Saturn is in the upper right. Copyright 2020 Joe Ulowetz. The image shown is reduced in size to fit this page. Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction, 2020-12-20 17:00:24 CST. At the time, Jupiter and Saturn were separated by a little more than one-tenth of a degree (about one-fifth the diameter of the full moon). The brighter dot is Jupiter. Taken with a cell phone at the eyepiece of a 5 inch SCT, through partly cloudy skies. Copyright 2020 Joe Ulowetz. The image shown is reduced in size to fit this page.
